I love this scene from Scrubs, because it is exactly how my husband reacts whenever I say “audiobooks” in a conversation. He will be completely interested in the convo UNTIL I start talking about narrating. At that point, he zones out. I can’t help it that I am totally excited about doing this, and I think it is the coolest thing ever, and……..I
Don’t get me wrong, I have a faithful, loving husband who would do anything for me, EXCEPT, listen to any of my books. He says he hears enough of my voice on a daily basis.
Ah well, maybe I won’t try to look too interested the next time he goes on about welding, or engines, or tools.
It doesn’t stop me though, if anyone asks me, I have no problem telling them how much fun this is, how many books I have up for sale, how time consuming (but interesting) this is, and on and on and on. God. Maybe he is right? I need to get out of the closet more……….
